Who is this Caz? Why Intelligent Movement?

That’s a good question – and the answer lies in a life immersed in the pursuit of movement…

In 1993 I underwent major abdominal surgery to fix an ailing kidney and was left with a 10” scar round my right side. No great shake really according to the healthcare professionals, except two years later I was starting to list sideways and I was only 15 🙈

My lovely Mum carted me off to Yoga to get some core strength and so the journey began. Cue a spanner 🔧 : the propped up kidney didn’t make it and I ended up undergoing more surgery in 2001 to remove the offending organ.

It would’ve been fine had it not been for a minor (actually quite major) issue called keloid scarring which basically means NO off switch when it comes to healing! 😬

But I was still practicing yoga… 🧘‍♀️ which was good, but it wasn’t good enough. Too much stretchy stretchy tears scar tissue coupled with some lovely movement pattens put in place by my body (without me knowing) and it became time to create something new, effective and a little outside the conventional movement box 📦

I created Intelligent Movement. It’s kinda yoga without the over stretch, pilates without the brute strength of the 💯‘s, gentle but tough, simple but extraordinarily effective. It works with scar tissue, frozen shoulders, arthritic knees – pretty much any ailment that restricts your movement really.

So that’s the movement. And me? I’m a chocolate brownie loving vegan, who’s enjoying living in the rolling greenery sticksville that’s Oxfordshire with my narna Staffy (you’ll see her in the videos and virtual classroom ‘assisting’) and my wise beyond years teen person.

I listen to very trance and house music very loudly because I’m a 90’s rave relic and I approach life laughing because life is just too fucking short not to eat the cake, spend the time with people you love, share blistering dry wit and laugh your head off (mostly at myself) at every opportunity. 💜
